This was the case for 51-year-old Jayne from Adelaide, Australia, who met her partner Danie on the platform, the Advertiser reports.
She was inspired to sample internet dating after hearing about a colleague who met their future husband on the web.
"It's hard when you get older to get back into the dating scene, but people want to overcome their loneliness. I've now got a totally new life," Jayne states.
Dating expert Yvonne Rice offers a few tips for those looking to do the same and suggests spending a certain amount of time talking to the individual over the web or telephone before meeting up in person.
Peter Spalton, founder of thedatingdoctor.co.uk, recently had some similar words of wisdom and said people should not be disheartened if they do not get a result immediately, as online dating can take some time.
