A company has revealed how it made a difference by handing over a sizeable donation to charity rather than sending Christmas cards over the festive season.

The Blackdown Shepherd Huts firm decided to shun its customers when it came to dishing out traditional cards and instead opted to support Help for Heroes, reports the Somerset County Gazette.

Co-founder George Bannister explained it was a move that he believed would be welcomed by everyone.

"Our customers share our integrity and know a major charity donation, especially at Christmas, is more deserving than a mere piece of paper through the post, and that a fortnight later it ends up in the bin or is lucky enough to be recycled," he stated.

Mr Bannister went on to explain that he and his colleagues spent plenty of time thinking about who to send their donation to and opted for Help for Heroes in order to honour the sacrifices of servicemen and women.ADNFCR-2867-ID-801691023-ADNFCR
