A comedian has left people stunned after he approached them and began conversations based on what he had seen on their social media profiles.

Jack Vale spent time researching sites such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram in order to build up a picture of the people who were living in his local area. Shortly after, he started to approach them on the street as a complete stranger.

Of course, Mr Vale was not a total stranger to the people he was talking to, as he often knew their names, family situation, pets and living arrangements.

He managed to catch people off-guard from the first moment by addressing them by their first names, which he should have had no idea of. But having scoured social media platforms for clues about the people he was living close to, he knew a lot more than just their names.

It illustrates just how much personal information people are willing to give away online and is also a reminder that, in the wrong hands, these details could be dangerous. As such, individuals should always think twice about what they write on their Facebook page or Twitter account.

A video showing the results of Mr Vale's work has been posted online and has proved something of a hit.

The clip starts with him walking towards a girl and asking her,  "Sorry to bother you, is your name Jessica?" before she replies, "How do you know that's my name?"

He then calls another person Stephanie and wishes her a happy birthday, which he knew she was celebrating because she had posted about it online. Mr Vale even told her companion, Elena, that she enjoyed a birthday seven weeks earlier.

Another respondent told the comedian: "You're freaking me out right now."

It is not only names and dates Mr Vale could recall though, as he even told some people what they had for lunch recently and the names of family members.ADNFCR-2867-ID-801662556-ADNFCR
