A brewery in Ledbury is producing a special cider to raise money for an armed forces charity.

Bevisol is making Hereford's Pilgrim Cider and 10p from every bottle sold will be donated to Help for Heroes, according to the Ledbury Reporter.

So far, over 20,000 units have been shipped and Chris Newall – spokesman for the brewery – hopes to raise at least £60,000 from the endeavour.

"Raising money like this means it is not just a one-off donation. It is something we can do year on year," he added.

Mr Newall continued by saying that the idea came after the company was approached by a couple of military men to see if there was anything it could do to collect cash.

The cider can be bought throughout the UK and the representative is hoping to get it stocked in major retail chains.

As well as making the brew, Bevisol is also responsible for a range of non-alcoholic beverages.
