A Christmas fair has been held in Perthshire to raise funds for the Help for Heroes charity.
Textile firm owners Lisa Hector and Katie Whitson organised the event, set in Kinrossie Village on November 5th and 6th, IC Perthshire reports, with handcrafts and vintage items being on sale.
Ms Whitson's husband Rob is a former member of the Royal Dragoon Guards, who as part of the 4th mechanised brigade of the British Army is currently in Afghanistan and undertook a tour of duty in Iraq.
He spent 16 years as a member of the Guards – based at Catterick in North Yorkshire – until leaving the army five years ago.
Both the ladies run their own businesses making crafts and textile products.
The first weekend in November also saw traditional Bonfire Night celebrations in Oxfordshire used to assist the charity, the Oxford Mail reported.
Proceeds from paying spectators at the firework displays in Didcot and Culham Park near Abingdon will go towards the cause, with thousands having attended.
