Being single at Christmas might be a slightly depressing reality for many people, so it is also a great time to make an attempt to find someone new.

Those of you who turn to online dating sites this festive season have been advised you might just be more likely to find Mr or Miss Right at this time of the year than any other.

Dating coach Hayley Quinn has been speaking to the Huffington Post about festive flings and why they are among the best of all. She noted they are typically more likely to go the distance than relationships that begin as summer romances.

The reason for this is that in the warmer months of the year, many of you typically prioritise adventure, action and experiences over anything else.

Someone who can offer you a great time while the weather allows you to have one can be seen as hugely attractive, even if they are not a long-term fit. This is why many summer flings die out as soon as autumn arrives and couples realise they are not ideally suited.

But this is not an issue at Christmas, as this is a time when many people tend to consider what is really important to them, Ms Quinn explained.

There is no doubt that this is a better foundation for a relationship and can lead to a long-term partnership and maybe even marriage.

Ms Quinn went on to suggest that the combination of having an entire year to reflect on and new year celebrations to plan makes people feel more "value orientated". Even being surrounded by friends and family can help you to realise what you are looking for in a partner.

"This means we'll be looking for someone's who's deeply compatible with us and much more likely to last long after the Christmas lights come down. This requires work and effort and Christmas enables the time required," she stated.ADNFCR-2867-ID-801676642-ADNFCR
