A group of students have raised over £1,100 for Help for Heroes (H4H) by taking part in a charity walk.

Some 23 youngsters who attend the Skegness College of Vocational Training walked 17 miles last Wednesday (September 19th) from Mablethorpe to Skegnes in order to collect cash for the military charity.

All of those taking part handed over a cheque to Staff Sergeant Cathy Evans and she told the Skegness Standard the initiative is great.

"It is events like this that help H4H greatly and everyone in the local community who supports us makes a difference," Staff Sergeant Evans said.

Duncan Moffatt, managing director of the college, gave a speech and presented the group with a certificate to mark their achievement.

It marks the third year in a row that the educational facility has organised an event in order to raise funds for H4H and the fundraising total has increase every time.
