Some £3,500 has been raised for Help for Heroes thanks to a charity skydive.

Six women from Bury took on the challenge in an effort to collect money for the armed forces charity, the Bury Free Press reports.

Bron Madson was one the ladies who took part in the feat and she admitted it was pretty scary.

"[It was] an amazing experience to jump out of a plane at 12,000ft and go from zero to 120 miles per hour. A big thank you to everyone who supported us," she added.

Ms Madson is also going to be part of the support team for another fundraising initiative.

Geoff Warren, Chris Brice and Colin Harker are going to travel 6,000 miles from the UK to Dubai on motorbikes loaned to them by Triumph.

So far, over £11,000 has been collected for the bike ride, which means the three are well on their way to reaching their £12,000 target.
