A man will take on a 62-mile run in order to raise money for charity, as he tackles the famous London to Brighton route.

Alan Lamb, 44, has already run 16 marathons since Christmas, but now he believes he is ready for a challenge more than double the distance, reports the Eastern Daily Press.

He will jog from Richmond Park in the capital to Brighton Racecourse in just one day, with the run expected to take him about 13 hours.

"It's not daunting. I'm really excited about the event. I feel I can do it. My positive mental attitude is there and I'm up for the challenge. My friends and family think I'm crazy," Mr Lamb explained.

The keen runner is aiming to raise £1,000 for Help for Heroes as a result of his 62-mile run, which comes two years after he raised £1,500 for the charity by completing the Barcelona Marathon.ADNFCR-2867-ID-801580558-ADNFCR
