Soldiers in Afghanistan were honoured at a charity gig in the Western Isles town of Stornoway recently, which saw £1,020 raised for Help for Heroes.
According to the Stornoway Gazette, the Merry Rockmas event – which was held last Friday (December 16th), saw local talents get together for a one-off performance.
Some of the artists who took part include Iain A Macsween, Dave 'Doily' Macdonald, Fiona Chasm Mackenzie, Sean Harrison, Keith Morrison, Dave Young and Chris Martin.
The gig was organised by Harris band Catch 22 member Bobby Macleod and the news source added that a "great night was had by all who attended".
This follows the efforts for Help for Heroes made by workers and regulars from The Crispin and The Ship in Wokingham, who raised more than £3,000 by holding a charity football match, Get Wokingham reports.
After 90 minutes of play, it was The Ship who that won out, scoring five goals to their opponent's three in the good-cause fixture.
