A group of people who are planning to cross the Arctic in aid of Help for Heroes have been told they will be rewarded for their efforts.

The Liverpool Echo reported that the team will be presented with the Liverpool City Shield and a Jeep as recognition of their challenge.

Lord Mayor Cllr Sharon Sullivan is due to present the group with the iconic symbol on Monday (February 11th) before they set off on their trek.

In order to raise money for Help for Heroes, the group is planning to drive to the northern region of Norway and cross the Arctic Circle.

They will reach the most northern point of Europe in the process at North Cape, with the shield then being presented to the Lord Mayor of Nordkapp.

A brand new Jeep has been loaned to the group for the duration of their trip so they are well prepared to tackle the difficult landscape.ADNFCR-2867-ID-801537280-ADNFCR
