Some £24,000 has been raised for the Army Benevolent Fund and Help for Heroes thanks to a charity ball in Hamilton.
Sergeant Gary Jamieson organised the event as a way of saying thank you to the two military charities after they aided his recovery, the Hamilton Advertiser reports.
He was injured in a bomb blast in Afghanistan in April 2010 and thinks his rehabilitation would not have been possible without the help and support of the two groups.
"My house was converted for disabled living, modifications were made to my car and I received help that enabled my family to come and stay with me when I was in hospital," Sergeant Jamieson stated.
As well as charging £75-a-head for entrance to the charity do, ticket sales and raffles were added to the final total, while the event was compered by well-known Scottish comedian Andy Cameron.
Michael McCann, MP for East Kilbride, Strathaven and Lesmahagow, was also on hand to deliver a speech.
