A video of a cat breastfeeding ducklings has become an internet hit and provided UK animal lovers with the latest example of cross-species love.
Ronan and Emma Lally recorded clips of their pets as they grew ever closer, with their feline companion eventually opting to feed the three ducklings.
The cat already had her own newborn kittens to tend to, but chose to also adopt the ducklings and went out of her way to look after them.
Mr and Mrs Lally appeared on RTE Radio's The Mooney Show to talk about the unusual situation and explained they originally feared their feathered friends had gone missing, only to later find them in the cat basket.
Of course, cats and birds are often thought to be the strongest of enemies and unlikely to get too close to each other, but this case proves that there can be a happy ending among even the most unlikely of species.
