A special carol service was enjoyed by many people last night (December 11th) in support of the charity Combat Stress.

The good cause hosted the event at the Royal Chelsea Hospital and it featured a number of readings and musical delights, all of which took place in a remarkable setting.

It began at 19:30 GMT with a performance by The Chapel Choir of the Royal Hospital, who took the lead in an hour of popular carols and several of their own solo pieces and readings.

There was also a reception for the guests to enjoy with drinks and canapes on offer, before the evening drew to a close at around 22:00 GMT.

President of Combat Stress General Sir Redmond Watt was one of the readers at this year's service, along with Olympic gold medallist Sophie Hosking.

Combat Stress works to support veterans who are suffering from a mental disorder following their days in the services and aims to help them regain a normal everyday life.ADNFCR-2867-ID-801671872-ADNFCR
