Single soldiers who watched Pippa Middleton glide down the aisle at the royal wedding might be of the opinion that she has the best bottom in the world.
But judges at the Rear of the Year contest evidently did not agree, as they named Carol Vorderman the proud owner of the coveted title.
It may well come as a surprise to many people, as Facebook pages and websites have been dedicated to Ms Middleton's derriere after she wore a tight-fitting dress to perform her maid of honour duties during the marriage between her sister Kate and Prince William.
As she collected the award, Vorderman – known for her role as a former numbers expert on Countdown – remarked: "I am really surprised and flattered to get this award, particularly at this stage of my life."
The male victor who scooped the equivalent accolade was Strictly Come Dancing's Anton Du Beke and the pair proudly paraded their posteriors in a pair of tight-fitting jeans when the results were announced.
