For many people in the UK, finding the perfect partner remains very much a dream rather than a reality.

Even those individuals who are in relationships often admit to being with someone they do not believe is truly special and Mr or Miss Right. And the sizeable proportion of the population who are single most certainly have yet to find the one.

New research carried out by animal welfare charity the Brooke has found one in ten women even claim to love their pet more than they do their partner. In addition, almost a third of respondents said they feel the same amount of fondness for an animal as they do their lover.

The charity polled 2,000 women with pets and more than half admitted to loving their animal more after having an argument with their partner, while 39 per cent said they become more affectionate towards a creature when they get no attention from a man.

A spokeswoman for the Brooke said: "Perhaps a frustration for women is also that they expect less of their pets but are still rewarded with endless affection and loyalty.

"Pets can't answer back with sarcastic comments or moan about the state of the house so it's easy to have a blissful relationship with a pet, which can't always been said of human relationships."

Of course, women should not give up just yet on the idea of finding love with another human, so thinking about the best way to attract the perfect partner is a good idea. One of the best options available in the modern world is online dating, which has created thousands of happy couples.

Anyone who is not happy with their current personal situation could turn to internet dating sites, where they will find a plethora of available men and women who are ready to get to know each other.

What's more, it is possible to use dating sites at any time of the day, so no matter how busy women are with work, hobbies or looking after their beloved pets, they can always find time to chat to single men.ADNFCR-2867-ID-801658357-ADNFCR
