A Cambridgeshire mother is taking part in a 1,000-mile cycle ride across Vietnam in order to raise money for Help for Heroes.

Debbie Smith has become devoted to the good cause and the Vietnamese challenge is her latest way of generating funds for it, reports the Cambs Times 24.

She has already raised more than £10,000 in the two years since she became the Cambridgeshire coordinator for the charity.

But the 1,000-mile ride in Vietnam is her hardest challenge yet, as it will involve cycling around 100km a day for ten days.

She is joined by around 240 other people who will pedal from one end of the country to the other as part of a quest arranged by US charity Operation Wounded.

"Being involved with Help for Heroes has been humbling and awe inspiring, it can often be emotional but I wouldn't change a thing," Ms Smith explained.ADNFCR-2867-ID-801709814-ADNFCR
