Air cadets from Coventry are to show their support for the Help for Heroes charity by taking part in a Christmas-themed fundraiser.

Members of 2438 (Bishop Ullathorne) Squadron Air Training Corps – which is based in the school grounds of Leasowes Avenue – will be wrapping presents in an attempt to generate funds for the cause, the Coventry Telegraph reports.

The youngsters will be providing the service outside The Entertainer in Lower Precinct between 10:00 and 16:00 GMT on Saturday December 11th.

Around £300 was raised by the participants when they performed the same fundraiser a year ago – with wrapping paper and bows being donated by squadron staff this time.

Flight sergeant Alan Tillman said: "The squadron has done many fundraising activities for the Help for Heroes campaign and it only seems right to end the year fundraising for them again."

A rock night recently held at The Fox and Goose pub and organised by the Southport Original Cruisers bike club raised more than £500 for the charity, the Southport Visiter reported.
