Single soldiers with access to Broadband may want to take advantage of the opportunity and have a look into online dating, following the findings of a new survey.

Carried out by BT as part of its Race to Infinity fibre optic broadband initiative, the poll highlighted the value people in Scotland place on internet access.

The study revealed one-in-five respondents would be willing to give internet courtship a go, while 16 per cent claimed they already had.

BT Scotland director Brendan Dick stated: "This survey reinforces just how important the internet is to people in Scotland."

Moreover, the investigation showed 85 per cent of those questioned use the world wide web for shopping purposes, while seven per cent said they spent the majority of time streaming content when they are online.

In a recent article on ADI News, Mark Whysall noted the popularity of finding love in cyberspace could result in the US witnessing a baby boom in the coming years.
