The British Military Tournament will be held at Earls Court on December 4th and 5th and will feature pre-recorded messages from Stephen Fry, Joanna Lumley and Dame Judi Dench, Event Magazine reports.

It is to be presented by ABF The Soldiers Charity and narration on the night will come from Anthony Andrews.

More than 500 troops will be taking part in the proceedings, accompanied by 145 horses, massed bands and an obstacle course.

It aims to celebrate the 350th anniversary of the formation of the Household Cavalry and the 150th anniversaries of the Cadet movement and the Army Physical Training Corps.

Troops fighting on the front line recently responded with cheers when prime minister David Cameron announced they were to receive pay increases that will be backdated to the day of the general election.
