A couple's wedding day should be the happiest day of their lives. Months of planning goes into the event and the thought of anything going wrong is enough to cause a minor heart attack.

When Irini Georgiou set off to Christ Church Little Heath in Potters Bar her big day threatened to go up in smoke – literally – as the 1969 Plymouth Barracuda she was travelling in burst into flames.

This is Local London reported that fortunately a fire crew was soon on the scene and put out the fire before then taking the damsel in distress to the ceremony in their truck, with over 200 guests and the nervous groom Phillip Critoph waiting for her arrival.

"It was a wonderful moment. I’ve never seen anything like it in ten years. No-one could believe it at first but when she arrived everyone was laughing and it turned out to be a wonderful occasion," vicar Reverend Stephen Rees told the source.ADNFCR-2867-ID-801617247-ADNFCR
