A marathon runner from Wiltshire hopes to support armed forces personnel by completing 100 marathons in 100 days.

Mike Buss is nearing his target and is already eyeing up his next challenge, This Is Wiltshire reported.

The 36-year-old completed his 96th 26.2-mile run on a treadmill in Aldershot this week and the final event will be held in Birmingham on September 23rd.

He is raising money for Help for Heroes to support troops injured while fighting for their country.

"I'm tired and very heavy legged, but my body is good," said Mr Buss – a former Royal Green Jacket.

Aiming to raise around £50,000 for the armed forces charity, the next challenge will see Mr Buss head to Nevada's Death Valley for a further 100 marathons.

Marathon runners in Wales have also been lending their support to the armed forces, with brothers Scott and Rhys Jenkins telling BBC News of their plans to run a marathon each day for 70 days.
