Black cat photographed next to its own missing poster

A cat has made a remarkable reappearance after being photographed standing in the window bay of a home next to a missing cat poster that was appealing for its return.

The snap has become an internet hit and shows an image of a black cat and text relating to its supposed disappearance, with the actual feline just a few inches away on the windowsill.

There might now be some questions asked of the owner, who could have been a little premature when it came to launching the appeal for the cat's return when it had clearly not strayed too far from home in the first place.

Of course, the pet may have simply spent an extended period away from home and later returned without ever coming into danger.

And with thousands of us in the UK treating our pets as cherished members of the family, the owner should not be blamed for doing everything possible to get the cat back.
