A bevy of bikini-clad beauties were poised on a Bournemouth beach last weekend (August 13th) to attempt a record-breaking feat.

The ladies – many of whom sported revealing black two-pieces – joined a group of males to enjoy a mass shower at the seaside.

Some 152 of them turned out and managed to break the Guinness World Record for the greatest number of people showering simultaneously at a single venue.

Shower gel manufacturer Lynx organised the attempt and the brand name could be seen emblazoned across the rears of many bikinis.

Adjudicator Anna Orford congratulated all those involved and said: "The people of Bournemouth have to be applauded for getting into the spirit of the day and taking a shower together."

Lynx is known for its advertising campaigns featuring beautiful women and curvy model Kelly Brook recently became the new face of the Excite product range.

Organisers are now planning to take the gigantic six-metre shower to beaches around Europe, where there will undoubtedly be more stunning ladies keen to get involved.
