A star of reality television show Big Brother has shown his support for injured troops by releasing a charity single.

Steve Gill, an ex-serviceman who was wounded by an IRA bomb 21 years ago and appeared in the last series of the Channel 4 programme, recruited some fellow contestants to help record a reggae song entitled Let's Rock, according to the Gravesend Reporter.

The video for the record features cameos from other Big Brother housemates and money raised through sales of the hit will be donated to the British Ex Service Men's Association and Help for Heroes.

Gill said: "It's a fun tune, really positive. I think it’s great. We can really make a difference and our boys and girls will love it."

A single recorded by the finalists of this year's X Factor competition in aid of Help for Heroes topped the charts after it shipped 144,000 copies in the first week of its release.
