Beware of differing personalities online and in person

Britons who turn to the internet in a bid to find a partner have been advised to remember that people who seem charming and ideal online may not always be the same in real life.

The Zimdiaspora has published a guide to meeting people online and noted there is always a chance that individuals will seem different face to face.

For example, some online daters may just be extremely charming when they have time to plan their response, but lack that sparkle over dinner or drinks.

Of course, some people will also make sure the more undesirable aspects of their personality remain under wraps on the internet, but there is nowhere to hide on a real-life date, which can again lead to disappointment.

A judgement call will have to be made at some point, so while it is worth finding out plenty about a potential partner online, eventually Britons will have to bite the bullet and meet up in order to assess somebody effectively.
