A number of people – including Mark Cavendish's fiancee Peta Todd and Paralympian Jon-Allan Butterworth – have come together to team up for the Hero Ride.

The journey takes competitors from Paris, France, to London and its aim is to raise £2 million for Help for Heroes (H4H).

It was first completed in 2008 and the famous faces joining the ride in London's Blackheath are sure to add to its profile.

Butterworth said he has seen for himself how the funds raised for H4H go towards changing the lives of injured servicepeople for the better.

"It would a fantastic show of solidarity for as many people as possible to get involved with Hero Ride, whether they are participating, fundraising or lining the streets of London in June," the silver medallist noted.

Another celebrity known to be backing Hero Ride is Lorraine Kelly, who is proud to be a supporter of H4H.ADNFCR-2867-ID-801551826-ADNFCR
