A Strathblane woman with sons in the armed forces has raised over £2,000 for Help for Heroes through baking.
The cake sale took place on Saturday (April 7th) and Louise Bennet said she was amazed how generous people were, the Milngavie Herald reports.
"From the word go, the stall was busy – and many people turned up with their home baking. I didn't get a chance to thank them all," she added.
Ms Bennet already posts homemade buns to frontline troops at a rate of 300 per week.
BBC journalist Kirsty Wark – one of the presenters of current affairs programme Newsnight – and fellow broadcaster Sally McNair offered a helping hand and Wark's banana bread proved to be extremely popular.
As well as the baking extravaganza, a raffle also took place.
Ms Bennet praised all those who took part in the scheme for their commitment to raising cash for such a good cause.
