We’ve all been known to show off but single soldiers may need to be cautious when in the presence of an attractive woman in the future, as a new study has revealed men will become increasingly likely to take risks to impress the object of their desire.

Published in the journal Social Psychological and Personality Science, the research found that the presence of a hot female elevates testosterone levels and in turn, physical risk taking among young men.

When asked to perform tricks in front of a physically attractive young woman, male skateboarders were more likely to perform risky stunts than if they were just around their mates.

Report authors Richard Ronay and William von Hippel said: "This experiment provides evidence for an effect that has existed in art, mythology, and literature for thousands of years: Beautiful women lead men to throw caution to the wind."

A recent study published in the British Medical Journal revealed that soldiers who keep themselves fit and healthy may enjoy a longer and more satisfying love life than lazy couch potatoes.
