The mother of a soldier injured while fighting for his country is to take part in a gruelling desert walk for charity.
Belinda Hale will accompany the Band of Sisters as they make their way across the hazardous terrain through Jordan to raise money for Help for Heroes, the Daily Record reports.
Ms Hale will be required to face a fear of flying just to get to the start of the walk, but said she is up to the task because her son Wyn and thousands like him in the armed forces have to overcome obstacles on a regular basis
The 57-year-old stated: "The trek will be a challenge. It will be hot, dusty and arduous but my discomfort will be over in two weeks."
And Help for Heroes is likely to be a charity close to Ms Hale and her son's hearts, as it helped him during his time in hospital, providing him with all the essentials he needed.
