A group of men are preparing for a challenging journey through 800 miles of Scandinavian snow in an attempt to raise £20,000 for Help For Heroes (H4H).
The team of 12 men, including amputee Wayne Mosdale and former servicemen Ian Williams and Rik Purchase, will drive six vehicles through several feet of snow and brave temperatures as extreme as minus 40 degrees C.
The expedition begins in March and will cover five different countries – the Netherlands, Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland – crossing into the Arctic Circle in what will be a two-week adventure.
Speaking to the Haverhill Echo, one of the organisers of the trip Robert Seaborn said how the team is raring to go, but naturally is feeling a bit of trepidation.
"This is probably the most extreme [area] you can travel through during the winter and we'll only have two and a half hours of daylight a day."
