Anglers in Scarborough will be hoping for a good catch in their fundraising matches for Help for Heroes.

The events are taking place this Saturday (September 18th) and are organised by Wykeham Lakes proprietor Mike Heelis, the Scarborough Evening News has said.

An open event takes place on the carp lake while a trout competition is held on the adjacent body of water.

There will also be a BBQ to raise further funds, weather permitting.

Meanwhile, money is being raised for the charity through a fashion show in London.

Entitled Fashion for the Brave, it aims to raise £1 million for Help for Heroes, the Soldiers Charity and the Household Cavalry Operational Casualties Fund.

It has already been supported by fashion icons including Vivienne Westwood, Victoria Beckham and Julien Macdonald.

The show takes place at the Dorchester on October 26th and will be hosted by Angela Rippon.
