Action Man is an iconic figure and many soldiers may well remember collecting the dolls as youngsters.

Now the brand is set to get a makeover with some new trendy togs in aid of Help for Heroes.

A range of high street names have been recruited for the initiative, which is being run by Men's Health magazine.

Brands such as Barbour and Evisu will style the figurines with some exclusive designs from their autumn fashion collections and the end products will then be auctioned off on eBay to raise money for the charity.

Morgan Rees, editor-in-chief of Men's Health, comments: "There's nothing Action Man can't turn his hand to – and now he's conquered fashion."

Help for Heroes was established by Bryn and Emma Parry in 2007 and has raised some £105.81 million, which is used for the support and treatment of soldiers who have been injured while on duty.
