Many people complain that their job is boring and repetitive, but these are two words you’re unlikely to hear a soldier say.
Private Lee Cook, who has just finished serving with the Royal Logistics Corps in Germany, told the Chester Chronicle that a career in the army is anything but dull, with different things happening every day.
Speaking at the Chester Army Careers Information Office as part of the Satisfied Soldier Scheme, private Cook said it was always his wish to become part of Her Majesty’s armed forces and he is now living his dream.
"The best bit about the Army is there is always something to do. It’s exciting and you get to travel the world," he told the newspaper.
Speaking to the Daily Telegraph recently, corporal Clare Waters, a district nurse from Brentwood, Essex, and captain Angus Wilson, a doctor from St Bartholomew’s Hospital in London, said that working in Afghanistan with troops is a very rewarding experience.
