Members of an estate agents in Sandhurst have put on their walking boots and taken part in a sponsored hike to raise money for soldiers injured while serving their country.

A team from Romans estate agents marched 16 miles towards Windsor castle – and raised more than £1,000 for Help for Heroes in the process, Get Bracknell reports.

The group of five – all from the Yorktown Road branch – traversed woodland, main roads and the fields of Great Windsor Park to reach their destination.

Branch manager Mark Heneghan described the charity as a fantastic cause and noted the fundraisers were honoured to lend their support to the organisation.

He added: "It made up for some of the strange looks we attracted as we limped through Windsor town centre in muddy clothes and walking boots in search of post-walk refreshments."

The Gazette Series recently reported Thomas Cook pilot Pamela McCoy is to take a plane of passengers to see Norway's Northern Lights – raising money for Help for Heroes in the process.
