The current Miss England, who also happens to be soldier in the army, has given servicemen and women some key tips to stay in shape.

Lance Corporal Katrina Hodge, dubbed Combat Barbie by the media, said that her diet and fitness regime helps to not only keep her in shape, but maintain the physique which won her the Miss England crown.

She told the Sun that the main thing is to have a regular routine which is easy to perform anywhere, such as sit-ups and press-ups.

However, Lance Corporal Hodge was keen to stress the importance of eating the right stuff.

"At lunchtime, I’ll have a jacket potato with cheddar cheese and lots of salads, and dinner is spaghetti bolognese or vegetable lasagne. I don’t bother with puddings and I watch serving sizes," she said.

Former Spice Girl Mel B also gave the troops some home workout tips recently when stating that treadmill exercises can help to keep servicemen and women in tip top shape.
