Women planning on using online dating websites to meet soldiers should resist the temptation to lie when submitting their online profile.
This is the advice of Garreth Murphy, writing for Herald.ie, who said being truthful is important when looking for love on the internet.
"E-dating may be initially anonymous but pretending to be something you're not risks problems when you meet," he advised.
Mr Murphy also urged people trying web matchmaking for the first time to "take things slowly" and not give out excessive amounts of personal information too soon.
He noted that while online dating used to be "sneered at", its image has changed dramatically and such services offer numerous advantages, such as being able to talk and flirt with people "at any time".
David Kamau, in an article published on Rnif.com, recently emphasised the importance of doing research when choosing a dating website to use and encouraged people to pick a portal that is best suited to their needs.
