Values 'are important' in internet dating

There are many things to consider before deciding to set up a profile and seeking a prospective partner through online dating, but values are likely to be among the most important for those seeking a serious relationship.

Individuals may be keen to find a fellow user who has the same views on certain aspects of life, many of which will determine how well they get along and whether they are able to forge a strong-enough bond for the relationship to progress to something a little more definitive.

Online daters may therefore find it beneficial to list their values - such as those relating to family and education - on their page in order to attract likeminded members of the opposite sex and to demonstrate from the outset just what they are looking to get out of the experience.

Indeed, online dating site user Kia Pinkney has written in the Examiner that she decided to contact her current partner on the medium after learning of the values he holds dear by reading his profile.
