A Travelodge customer described her horror when she reportedly found a camera in her shower cubicle.

Harmony Hachey, 23, had been using the shower when she found the small device behind a vent.

The camera had been facing her directly when she spotted it. Ms Hachey immediately informed the hotel staff, who traced the device to the caretaker's cupboard which backs on to the shower cubicle.

She said: "I was absolutely disgusted. I got a fork and stuck it in the vent. You could see so clearly it was a camera. I broke down at one point. I just felt so violated."

Ms Hachey, a food development executive, had been studying at the Oxford Wheatley Travelodge after travelling down from her home in Edinburgh in Scotland.

She had travelled to Oxford with colleagues as she was working at an event in the area over the bank holiday weekend.

She explained: "One of the girls had a shower and then I went in. It was the first thing I noticed. I was trying to convince myself I was crazy and it wasn't really there. I had my shower and I just carried on as usual convincing myself I was crazy. I was going through scenarios in my head."

She then photographed the camera as evidence and told staff at hotels. The camera was then traced back to a USB cable in the caretaker's cupboard at the back of the shower.

Later, she received a call from upper management who claimed the camera was there for maintenance purposes.

She was later moved to another room and received a refund.ADNFCR-2867-ID-801799450-ADNFCR
