Soldiers 'should pop the question on a beach'

Soldiers 'should pop the question on a beach'

Troops thinking of getting down on bended knee in the near future should whisk their other half off to a tropical country to ask her, as they are more likely to get the answer they want.

According to research by thewineweddinglist.co.uk, 85 per cent of girls dream about the ultimate wedding proposal, with nearly half saying a deserted beach at sunrise or sunset is their ideal setting.

A further 46 per cent said they would like their bloke to ask for their hand in marriage at the top of a snow-covered mountain.

The study also found that 35 per cent of couples would prefer money or vouchers towards their honeymoon rather than the usual pots and pans or toaster gifts.

According to Andrea Ventress, deputy editor at Wedding magazine, guys and girls are marrying abroad because it is much cheaper than tying the knot in Blighty and the location is often a lot more beautiful.
