Single soldiers hoping to find a partner should remain optimistic when dating, it has been suggested.

The Sydney Morning Herald advised taking risks can prove beneficial in the long run.

It noted believing 'everything is going to be ok' is a positive step and is a message that should be remembered at all times.

Happiness in love is possible if people can accept this fact, the news provider explained.

It claimed daters should think: "That you're ok, that trying and failing is ok, that rejection is just another opportunity, that hope isn't foolish and disappointment is necessary to improvement."

Individuals should make the first move when attracted to somebody because all they have to lose is their excuse for not trying in the first place, the outlet added.

Single soldiers might also want to turn their attentions to online dating after a report by Shiny Shiny showed the internet can bring people together regardless of location.
