Scientists find key to a successful marriage

Scientists find key to a successful marriage

Soldiers looking for lasting love via army dating should look for a woman who is five years younger, from the same cultural background and who is more intelligent than they are.

That's according to scientists from the Geneva School of Business, who say that those who stick to this formula will be together for a very long time, with the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh living proof.

Nguyen Vi Cao, who led the study, which was published in the European Journal of Operational Research, said: "If people follow these guidelines in choosing their partners they can increase their chances of a happy, long marriage by up to 20 per cent."

Meanwhile, a team of researchers from confetti.co.uk claim to have found the time when married couples are at their happiest with each other.

After quizzing 4,000 husbands and wives, they concluded that two years, 11 months and eight days after walking down the aisle is the time when couples feel completely comfortable with each other.
