Online dating profiles 'should be unique'

An attractive and unique profile should be one of the main priorities for single soldiers hoping to entice a lover over the internet, it has been suggested.

Writing in the Scotland on Sunday, Samantha Scholfield noted a description has to also be genuine and honest.

The relationship expert advised users to avoid drafting up a "laundry list of either your positive or negative attributes", rather they should make the information more personal and specific and include such data as interesting hobbies.

Photographs chosen should be ones that best represent the subscriber's life, Ms Scholfield observed.

These could include a recent close-up of their face to show how attractive they are, as well as perhaps a snapshot with friends to highlight how sociable and fun they can be.
