Online dating 'is like a treasure hunt'

Single soldiers looking for an adventure may want to foray into the exciting world of online dating.

The process of meeting people via the internet has been likened to a treasure hunt by one person who found love over the web, Madison.com reports.

Jane Richardson married her partner Steve Dennis in less than two years after meeting in cyberspace.

And she advised prospective online daters to approach the subject with an optimistic attitude.

"You have to be persistent and you have to be patient and you have to have a good sense of humour," Ms Richardson explained.

She added web-based courtship is a contemporary method for individuals to meet available singles who share common interests and described her experiences with the medium as very positive.

Writing recently for Helium, Ted Sherman observed internet dating can offer a sense of security to users, as opposed to giving out personal details to total strangers.
