Online dating 'has advantages over traditional methods'

The increasing popularity of online dating suggests more people are opening up to the idea of finding a prospective partner via the web.

With stigma around the method beginning to disappear, higher numbers are logging on and looking up the individuals who can satisfy their needs, be it for a long-term relationship or a no-strings-attached harmless bit of fun.

While some people still prefer to meet members of the opposite sex in person, either when out and about through a chance encounter or set up by mutual friends, it appears finding a lover online has a number of benefits over these options.

Indeed, Jasmine Monteiro has noted in the Taunton Daily Gazette that the different approaches share many similarities, adding: "Online is better because you have time to Google them before you meet."

Having the web at-hand to source potential dates has already proven a popular method and is only likely to increase as greater numbers realise the benefits online dating can bring.
