Online chat 'can blossom into a serious relationship'

An online dating forum can be the ideal place for single soldiers to pick up girls, but it can also lead to serious relationships.

According to the FDL Reporter, thousands of marriages take place each year after people hooked up over the internet.

The news source cited the example of a US couple who found it advantageous to learn more about each other through digital correspondence before they decided to meet in the flesh.

Tina Wilhelm met her husband Steve on the web and claimed it was three to four weeks before the duo physically saw one another.

"It was kind of nice because I felt like we actually got to know each other a little better than just meeting in person right away," she explained.

STV recently noted the world wide web is a great forum for meeting people with similar interests as it enables users to pick and choose the individuals that take their fancy.
