New soldier charity launched

New soldier charity launched

A new soldier charity has been set up to help build a centre for relatives of servicemen and women.

Sharon Backhouse has launched Hope 4 Heroes with the aim of creating the venue in Yorkshire, the Pontefract and Castleford Express reports.

She said the ultimate goal of the group is to set up a facility where returning troops can go in order to get rehabilitation.

"If we can just start with a drop-in centre where people can come for support it would be great," Ms Backhouse remarked.

The source added she has also set up the charity Afghan Heroes and the new Hope 4 Heroes campaign is set to be launched at Reighton Sands Holiday Village in Filey.

It was recently reported Clint Varndell is going to get on his bike and cycle 119 laps of a town in Worcestershire in an attempt to raise around £20,000 for the Afghan Heroes initiative.
