Prince Harry – a royal famously associated with the Armed Forces – now has a new waxwork at London's Madame Tussauds museum.

According to Madame Tussauds, His Royal Highness – whose formal title is Prince Henry of Wales – is wearing army combat fatigues in the sculpture. His outfit was a donation from the Army Air Corps.

The prince is, of course, also known as Captain Harry Wales of 3 Regiment Army Air Corps, and his outfit is a reflection of his Apache Helicopter Pilot work.

Harry's waxwork is shown wearing a field jacket, field belt, trousers, desert boots and t-shirt.

The sculpture was revealed shortly in advance of the Prince Harry-launched Invictus Games, which were recently held in London.

The games took place from September 10th to September 14th this year, and according to organisers saw over 400 medals given out in nine adaptive sports. These were competed in by sick, wounded and injured service people representing a range of countries.

Prince Harry's waxwork was a replacement for an older sculpture of the prince, which showed him wearing a blue suit and was unveiled back in 2006.

"Since he was first portrayed [by Madame Tussauds] in his very early twenties Prince Harry has changed quite a lot, and his 30th birthday seemed the perfect time to create a brand new figure with a brand new look," said Matthew Clarkson, marketing manager at Madame Tussauds, London.

Prince Harry's latest figure – created at a £150,000 cost – can be seen in the attraction's Royal area, alongside waxworks such as The Prince of Wales, Harry's father.

Prince Harry's grandmother, Her Majesty the Queen, has herself had more than 20 Madame Tussauds waxworks created in her image over time.ADNFCR-2867-ID-801749981-ADNFCR
