National Men's Health Week 'should encourage fitness'

It is currently National Men's Health Week and fitness advisers are keen to get the message across, Lynn News reports.

With the World Cup showing some of the healthiest guys on the planet competing for such a prestigious prize, it is hoped men will be encouraged to lace up their running shoes and hit the gym.

Dr Ian Banks, from NHS Norfolk, commented: "Just doing a small amount of activity can greatly improve a man's quality of life, whether it's walking more regularly [or] cycling to work."

The source added Lynn's Queen Elizabeth Hospital is showing the way by getting staff to take part in lunchtime bike riding sessions.

England football fans will next get the opportunity to watch the national team compete in the World Cup on Friday, when Fabio Capello's boys take on Algeria.
