Man base jumps 6,000 ft from Himalayas

How would you fancy jumping over 6,000 ft off the top of a mountain?

It certainly doesn't sound like my idea of fun, but this is exactly what Valery Rozov likes to get up to in his spare time.

The man recently set a new record for base jumping after he leapt off a mountain in the Indian part of the Himalayas.

After taking 30 days to scale the summit, Mr Rozov plunged back down to earth in just 90 seconds in a specially-adapted suit.

"We had a few difficulties along the way, so I am really pleased that we were able to complete the jump successfully," he added.

It is not the first time Mr Rozov has shown his daredevil side and previously he leapt into an active volcano in Russia.

However, it was not all fun and games as he had to wait for three days for the rest of the expedition team to get back down to the bottom.
